Paris - Je T'aime ♥

What could be better than Paris in spring??
I confirm....... Not much!!

I was lucky enough to spend a late March weekend in Paris and it was truly amazing!

Paris is so special in what it has to offer its visitors!! The range of shops, restaurants, cafes, bars, clubs - all in a magnificently blended atmosphere of incredible history and modernity.
I've visited Paris many times before, but only once for private reasons, and this was back in 2004 and I honestly believe you need more than just a couple of weekends to get the full Paris experience....

I had the feeling something had changed from 2004 in terms of the behaviour of people.... In 2004 I had the feeling people weren't very friendly and not especially open to speak English with the struggling and sometimes lost tourists....they felt tired and bored of all these people invading their beautiful city (can't really say I'd blame them much though ;)). This time was completely different!! The Parisians were incredibly keen on helping to take touristy pictures, the taxi-drivers (somewhat known for a little arrogance and bad temper) were happy and cheerful, sharing stories about what it is like to live in Paris! The shop-assistants were incredibly friendly and insisted on speaking English and the service in the restaurants was also flawless. Maybe it was just spring in the air?? Either way, this surely helped the "Oh-so-happy-touristy-feeling"!

Walking around the streets of Paris while the trees are blooming, it is almost impossible not to be
completely bedazzled by its charm and it is so easy to understand why it is called "the city of love".
I could swear I heard tones of old, romantic, classic French tunes while walking down Champs-
Élysées!! ....and I litterally heard "La Valse d'Amelie" while eating at a little restaurant in Montmartre, which was much appreciated - especially being such a huge fan of "Amelie"!!

As Paris is already one of the most explored cities in the world, I won't spend time on giving the classic touristy advices - but will simply summarize my recommendation in one, single sentance:
GO THERE IF YOU CAN!!!!

Espérons vous revoir bientôt!

Movie recommendation - Alice in Wonderland

One of my most anticipated movies in a loooong time!!

Simply stunning, especially from a pure visual point of view!

I may not be entirely objective, as I think everything Tim Burton touches turns to (a gloomy kind of) gold, but I struggle to believe any Alice in Wonderland fans would be disappointed!! Especially if you, like me, watch(-ed) this in 3D!! .....having that said, you should however be aware that this is more a sequel to Alice in Wonderland. A "Return to Wonderland" if you will....

The Mad Hatter: "Have I gone mad?"
Alice Kingsley: "I'm afraid so. You're entirely bonkers. But I'll tell you a secret. All the best people are......."

I simply loved Johnny Depp as the Mad Hatter!!!

Watch the trailer:

....or read more about it here:

You probably already went to see this - either way, let me know your thoughts once you've seen it.... Enjoy!

Happy Easter!

It's spring! It's Easter! ...and it is a looooong weekend ahead!

Feeling? Fabulous!!! Happy!! Inspired!!
Thinking? How happy sunshine can make you...
Fearing? Absolutely nothing at the moment!
Considering? Going for a long walk by the Rhein to allow the rays of sun to touch my face and warm my heart...
Wondering? Whether or not to spend some time on spring cleaning my balcony or if I should just sit on it for a while, with a cup of coffee in my hand......hmm.....
Listening to? Bird twitter and the soft sound of "Somewhere over the rainbow", thinking about how sweet and inspiring those lyrics really are...

"Somewhere over the rainbow
Way up high,
There's a land that I heard of
Once in a lullaby.

Somewhere over the rainbow
Skies are blue,
And the dreams that you dare to dream
Really do come true.

Someday I'll wish upon a star
And wake up where the clouds are far
Behind me.
Where troubles melt like lemon drops
Away above the chimney tops
That's where you'll find me.

Somewhere over the rainbow
Bluebirds fly.
Birds fly over the rainbow.
Why then, oh why can't I?

If happy little bluebirds fly
Beyond the rainbow
Why, oh why can't I?"

Looking forward to? Enjoying some time off this weekend and am also REALLY looking forward to going to Sweden for a long weekend in mid-April and by then, hopefully beeing a proud auntie !!

Wishing? That you are all feeling great and if for some reason not, that you will soon be all shiny and happy again!

Commitment? Just signed up for a year at a gym!! Started yesterday....... Full throttle =))

It's funny how quick your life can turn around by a "simple" mind-set switch..... I do believe that we all create our own luck by believing in good things and that we are all in charge of our destinies!! The world is our oyster and we can do anything we set our minds and hearts on doing.... This is how I feel right now!! If could bottle this feeling and sell it - I would be a millionaire, I'm sure ;)

Try to keep smiling, remembering that "Happiness is the best facelift"!

I hope you are all enjoying your Easter weekends so far!
